Bensalem Twp Declares a Disaster Emergency effective Saturday at 6AM.

Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo has declared a Disaster Emergency effective Saturday August 27 2011 at 6AM. The Emergency Operators Center will be activated in preparation of the upcoming hurricane. All residence are asked to take necessary precautions. Residences that live in low lying areas that have the potential of flooding are asked to seek shelter at an alternate location. During the height of the storm motorists are restricted from driving in the Township in order to allow Emergency personnel to respond and assist those in need. Several shelter locations will be available once it is determined that the community will need access.The primary responsibility of the Emergency Operations Center is to assure that the community is safe. During the time of the storm Police Fire and Emergency personnel will be responding to potential life threatening calls.
